Like Broken Glass
I've always liked mosaic glass art. In this type of artwork, the artist takes various pieces of colored glass and creates a beautiful work of art. Yet it's made entirely out of broken glass, something most people would throw away. Rather than seeing something that no longer has purpose or worth, the artist sees something special.
Our loving God does the same thing for us. When life comes crashing down around us and breaks us into numerous pieces, our Daddy God lovingly picks us up, dusts us off, and says, "This one is worth keeping." The world may not see anything of value in our brokenness, but God does. Only God could take a broken mess and put it back together in a way that's even more beautiful than it was before.
So if you currently find yourself a broken mess, take heart. The Master Artist is at work. He's about to create a masterpiece.
"The Lord God declares, 'I will seek the lost, bring back the scattered, bind up the broken and strengthen the sick...' " ~ Ezekiel 34:16a

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (NIV)
